Women's History Month Celebration!
Women's History Month traces its beginnings back to 1911, to the First International Women's Day. In 1980, President Carter, issued a proclamation creating an official Women's History Week and in 1987, recognizing the outstanding contributions of women to our nation's history, Congress established March as the official Women's History Month. Each year, the President of the United States issues the official annual proclamation proclaiming March as National Women's History Month. The San Pedro Chamber looks forward each year to joining in the celebration.
